Being Social would be the last reason why a computer can help you. As a student you want to create a group that will help you in the future. So having Linked-in, Facebook, and twitter creates a history just like a credit card history, its more of a social history. Also having company meetings gets expensive by organizing timing, calling everyone, etc. but if you can skype or facetime online, it can cut down a lot on expenses.
